Egypt name squad for 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and South Sudan
Egypt will begin their Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying campaign with matches against Angola and South Sudan later this month.
The Pharaohs face Angola on 25 September before meeting South Sudan four days later on 29 September. The squad includes established internationals Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush, alongside players forming the team’s core in domestic football and across Europe.
The following players have been called up:
Goalkeepers: Mostafa Shobeir, El Mahdy Soliman, Mohamed Alaa, Abdelaziz Elbalouti
Defenders: Mohamed Hany, Tarek Alaa, Ramy Rabia, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Hamdy Fathy, Hossam Abdelmeguid, Karim Hafez, Ahmed Fatouh
Midfielders: Marwan Attia, Mohanad Lasheen, Mahmoud Saber, Emam Ashour, Mostafa Zico, Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Ali Mahmoud, Ibrahim Adel, Haissem Hassan, Mohamed Salah
Forwards: Omar Marmoush, Hamza Abdelkarim
Egypt’s opening fixture against Angola will be followed by the meeting with South Sudan on 29 September as the side begins its route towards the 2027 tournament.
