Leeroy Owusu joins Bnei Sakhnin

Dutch-Ghanaian right-back Leeroy Owusu has joined Israeli club Bnei Sakhnin, subject to passing his medical tests.

The experienced defender adds further quality and depth to the club’s defensive options as they strengthen their squad.

The 30-year-old has signed a one-season contract, with Bnei Sakhnin holding an option to extend the agreement by a further two years.

Owusu arrives with a long record in Dutch professional football. He made his senior breakthrough with Jong Ajax during the 2014-15 Eerste Divisie season, playing 28 matches and recording 2,388 minutes. That spell launched a career built across several clubs and divisions.

After a brief Eredivisie stint at Excelsior, Owusu joined Almere City, where he made 29 Eerste Divisie appearances in 2017-18. He subsequently represented De Graafschap before enjoying his most sustained period at Willem II. Between 2020 and 2023, he featured 98 times across three seasons, mainly in the Eredivisie before the club’s relegation.

Owusu moved to Denmark in July 2023, joining Odense Boldklub on a free transfer and signing a deal until June 2026. His move now offers Bnei Sakhnin an experienced, versatile defender familiar with demanding league environments. The club hopes he can complete his medical formalities swiftly and settle into the squad.
