Right to Dream sign Abdelrahman Mohamed Al-Aqabawy in one of Egypt’s biggest youth deals

Right to Dream have signed 14-year-old goalkeeper Abdelrahman Mohamed Al-Aqabawy from Al Mokawloon Al Arab for 500,000 Egyptian pounds.

The fee makes the move one of the most expensive deals involving a youth player in Egypt.

Al-Aqabawy is the son of Mohamed Al-Aqabawy, the former Al Mokawloon Al Arab goalkeeper who is now the club’s current goalkeeping coach.

As part of the agreement, Al Mokawloon Al Arab will receive 15% of any future resale fee or transfer fee if the goalkeeper moves abroad to pursue a professional career.

The deal is understood to have surpassed the previous record involving Al Mokawloon Al Arab, when Mohamed Hamdy joined Wadi Degla for 350,000 Egyptian pounds in 2017.

The transfer was completed after Al-Aqabawy underwent a medical examination, including the necessary tests and scans to confirm his health and age.
