Mohamed Salah scores and assists as Trabzonspor crush Genclerbirligi 5-0

Ernest Muci praised Mohamed Salah after the Egypt international scored one goal and created another in Trabzonspor’s 5-0 victory over Genclerbirligi in the Turkish league.

Salah played the full 90 minutes in the fourth round of the competition, helping Trabzonspor secure a comprehensive win. The result also took his tally to four goals in the Turkish league.

Muci said Salah had made a strong impression since joining the team and highlighted the experience within Trabzonspor’s squad.

“Salah is a great player. He is playing very well with us. We have a team containing players with a great deal of experience,” the Trabzonspor player said in comments reported by Turkish outlet 61saat.

Muci also expressed confidence that the team could build on the performance in its upcoming matches.

“We can organise ourselves well in the coming matches and continue our journey,” he added.

The player said Trabzonspor had worked hard in preparation for the match, with the squad also dealing with the departure of manager Fatih Tekke.

“We worked hard for this match. Manager Fatih Tekke left and we had been together for a long time. We wanted to make our supporters happy, and we achieved that today,” Muci said.

Salah started the match and remained on the pitch until the final whistle, contributing directly to two of Trabzonspor’s five goals. His display included one goal and one assist as the club produced a dominant result against Genclerbirligi.

The Egyptian forward’s individual figures from the match were:

– Minutes played: 90 – Goals: 1 – Assists: 1 – Shots: 2 – Key passes: 6 – Passes: 37/31 – Passing accuracy: 84% – Touches: 57

The performance continued Salah’s productive start to his Turkish league campaign, with the forward now having scored four times in the competition. His involvement against Genclerbirligi was also central to Trabzonspor’s attacking output, as the side completed a five-goal victory.

For Muci, the result was particularly significant because it followed a period of change around the team, including Tekke’s departure. He said the players had remained together for a considerable period and were motivated to respond positively in front of their supporters.

That response came in the form of a 5-0 win, with Salah’s goal and assist helping Trabzonspor claim the result in the fourth round of the Turkish league.
