Olisa Ndah handed memorable welcome after joining Libyan club Al Shomooa SC

Former Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC defender Olisa Ndah has been given a memorable reception after completing his move to Libyan Premier League side Al Shomooa SC.

The Nigerian international has joined Al Shomooa on a two-year contract, securing a new club for the 2026/27 season. His agreement with the Libyan outfit will run until 2028.

The club marked Ndah’s arrival with a special unveiling as the defender began settling into his new surroundings in Libya. Images and footage of the welcome have been shared following the completion of the move.

Ndah arrives at Al Shomooa after a short spell with Stellenbosch FC, where he spent the second half of the previous season. He joined the Cape Winelands club as a free agent in January 2026, following his departure from Orlando Pirates.

His time at Stellenbosch FC was brief, however. Head coach Gavin Hunt decided not to retain the defender at the end of last season, leaving Ndah without a club as he considered his next move.

A possible transfer to Mamelodi Sundowns had also been discussed during that period, but no move to the South African champions materialised. Instead, Al Shomooa secured the signature of the former Buccaneers player and offered him the opportunity to continue his career in Libya.

Ndah’s move represents another change in direction for a player who has previously featured for both Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC. He will now begin the next stage of his career in the Libyan Premier League after agreeing terms with Al Shomooa.

The 2026/27 campaign will therefore see the defender playing outside South Africa, with his new contract keeping him at the Libyan club until 2028.

Al Shomooa have welcomed Ndah as he starts life with the club, providing a notable introduction for the former Orlando Pirates player. The Nigerian is now expected to settle into his new team after officially opening this latest chapter of his career.
