Mauritanian international Bahmed Deuff is set to begin a new chapter in his career after joining Belgian Pro League side Royal Antwerp on loan from FC Nantes for the 2026–2027 season.

The 20-year-old midfielder will leave his long-time club for the first time as he takes on a new challenge outside France and prepares to make his debut in Belgian football.

Deuff has joined Royal Antwerp on a season-long loan deal that includes an option to buy at the end of the campaign.

Should the Belgian club decide to exercise the purchase option next June, the Mauritanian international could make his move to Belgium permanent and continue his career in the Belgian Pro League rather than return to France.

The versatile player offers Royal Antwerp flexibility in several positions. Although primarily regarded as a midfielder, Deuff can also operate as a centre-back, giving his new club an additional option in both midfield and defence.

His move to Belgium represents an important opportunity to gain regular first-team experience and further develop his game in a competitive European league.

Royal Antwerp will be hoping the Mauritanian can quickly adapt to his new surroundings and demonstrate the qualities that have earned him recognition at international level.

For Deuff, the 2026–2027 campaign will provide a chance to establish himself away from Nantes, gain valuable experience in Belgian football and potentially secure a permanent move to Royal Antwerp next summer.
