Luther Singh attracts Maccabi Netanya interest after AEL Limassol start

South African winger Luther Singh is being linked with a move from AEL Limassol to Israeli club Maccabi Netanya.

The 29-year-old, who plays on the left wing, has emerged as a reported target for the Ligat ha’Al side, with the rumour logged on 2 September. No transfer has been confirmed, and Singh remains under contract with AEL until 31 May 2027.

Singh has made one appearance for AEL in the Cyprus League this season, starting the match and completing the full 90 minutes. He provided one assist, contributing to half of the club’s goals in that game.

The player joined AEL on 1 July 2024 after a spell without a club. His current market value is listed at €850,000, while his highest recorded valuation was €3m during his time with Portuguese club Braga and before his 2021 move to FC Copenhagen.

Singh spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Chaves from Copenhagen and later moved to Serbian club Cukaricki before joining AEL. He won the Danish title with Copenhagen in the 2021-22 campaign.

Any move to Maccabi Netanya would therefore come with Singh still having almost nine months remaining on his current AEL contract, leaving the Cyprus club with a decision to make if interest develops beyond the rumour stage.
