Masry appoint Ahmed Samy as new head coach after three games

Egyptian Premier League side Al Masry SC have appointed Ahmed Samy as their new head coach following the departure of Emad El-Nahas after just three league matches.

The Port Said club confirmed the appointment on Wednesday, welcoming the experienced coach with a message on their official Facebook page.

“We are pleased to welcome Captain Ahmed Samy as the new head coach of our team. Welcome to the City of Eagles.”

Samy replaces El-Nahas after Masry opted to make a managerial change despite a promising start to the 2026-27 Egyptian Premier League campaign.

The club began the season with a 1-0 victory over Smouha SC, followed by a 3-2 win against Arab Contractors SC. Their unbeaten run ended with a defeat to Pyramids FC in the third round.

The 53-year-old arrives with extensive experience in Egypt’s top flight, having previously managed Smouha, Ceramica Cleopatra FC and Modern Sport FC.

Samy will take charge of his first match when Masry face Petrojet SC on 7 September in the fourth round of the league season.
