Former Morocco coach Walid Regragui has taken up a new role as a football analyst with French television network Canal+.

The broadcaster announced on Wednesday that it had signed the former Atlas Lions coach to join its football programming team.

Regragui will analyse matches from major European leagues broadcast by Canal+, marking his first professional role since leaving his position with the Moroccan national team after the Africa Cup of Nations.

New chapter after Morocco exit

The former Morocco boss had remained without a coaching role since his departure from the national team.

His appointment by Canal+ now offers him a new platform within the game, allowing him to share his tactical knowledge and experience with television audiences.

Regragui’s move into broadcasting follows a coaching career that brought him international recognition after guiding Morocco during one of the most significant periods in the country’s football history.

From the dugout to the television studio

Canal+ is one of France’s leading sports broadcasters, with extensive coverage of major European football competitions.

The addition of Regragui to its team gives the network a coach with experience at both club and international level, as well as a strong understanding of African and European football.

For the former Atlas Lions coach, the role represents a new chapter after leaving management, with his analysis now set to reach football audiences across France, Africa and other French-speaking markets.
