PSG begin contract extension talks with Desire Doue after impressive performances

Paris Saint-Germain have opened discussions with Desire Doue over a contract extension as the French champions look to secure the future of one of their most promising attacking talents.

The 21-year-old forward has continued to strengthen his reputation with influential performances in major matches, including the UEFA Super Cup and his recent Champions League outings. His development has reinforced PSG’s determination to keep him at the club for the long term.

According to L’Équipe, PSG have already submitted a contract extension proposal to Doué, whose current deal runs until June 2029. The proposed agreement would extend his stay until 2031 or 2032 and include a significant salary increase to reflect his growing importance to the team.

Doué’s recent progress has also renewed discussion about his absence from the 30-player shortlist for the 2026 Ballon d’Or. His performances for PSG and France had led some observers to question his omission, although the player has remained focused on his football rather than individual recognition.

His ability to influence important matches through creativity, explosiveness and attacking versatility has helped establish him as a key part of PSG’s long-term plans.

The proposed extension reflects the club’s desire to reward Doué’s development and protect its investment in the France international. Since joining PSG from Rennes in August 2024, he has emerged as one of the club’s most exciting young players, playing a decisive role in their European success.

Doué has also strengthened his profile off the pitch, recently signing a sponsorship deal with Nike, further underlining his growing commercial appeal.

Although negotiations are ongoing and no new contract has been officially announced, the early discussions represent a clear statement of confidence from PSG.

The club hope to reach an agreement that keeps Doué in Paris for several more seasons as they continue building their team around a core of young, talented players.
