Dumsani Msibi joins Golden Arrows as Chippa United goalkeeper switches clubs

South Africa goalkeeper Dumsani Msibi has joined Golden Arrows from Chippa United, completing a move between two Betway Premiership clubs on 2 September 2026.

Msibi, 31, arrives at Lamontville Golden Arrows after one season with Chippa United. He joined Chippa from Durban City on 1 August 2025, having previously played for Maritzburg United, Uthongathi and University of Pretoria.

The goalkeeper began his senior career with SuperSport United after progressing from SuperSport’s youth set-up. His early career also included loan spells, with SuperSport sending him to All Stars during the 2016-17 season before his move to Witbank Spurs in July 2017.

Msibi subsequently played for Real Kings and Richards Bay before joining University of Pretoria in January 2020. He moved to Uthongathi in July 2022 and then switched to Maritzburg United a year later.

Born in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga, Msibi stands at 1.89m and is right-footed. His arrival gives Golden Arrows another experienced South African goalkeeper as the club begin the 2026-27 Betway Premiership campaign.

He had not made an appearance for Chippa United in the opening four possible league matches of the season before changing clubs. His record during that period showed no minutes played, goals conceded or clean sheets.

Msibi’s most recent recorded move before joining Golden Arrows was his transfer from Durban City to Chippa United in August 2025. Earlier in his career, he moved from SuperSport United to Witbank Spurs on a free transfer in July 2017 after returning from his loan spell at All Stars.

The goalkeeper’s career has therefore taken him through a number of South African clubs, including Richards Bay, Real Kings, University of Pretoria, Uthongathi, Maritzburg United and Chippa United. He now continues that career with Golden Arrows.

Msibi completed his move from Chippa United to Golden Arrows on 2 September 2026.
