Damola Ajayi: Barnet land Tottenham U21 winger for 2026-27 campaign
England-Nigeria winger Damola Ajayi has joined Barnet from Tottenham U21 on loan, switching to the League Two club for the 2026-27 season.
The 20-year-old completed the move on 1 September and is contracted to remain with Barnet until 31 May 2027. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the temporary move.
Ajayi plays primarily on the right wing and arrives at The Hive after beginning the season with Tottenham’s development side. He made one appearance in Premier League 2 during the 2026-27 campaign, playing the full 90 minutes.
The move gives Ajayi another opportunity to gain senior experience in the English football pyramid after previous loan spells with Doncaster and Bromley.
He joined Doncaster from Tottenham U21 in July 2025 before returning to the north London club at the end of December. In January 2026, he moved to Bromley on loan and helped the club win the English fourth tier title before returning to Tottenham U21 in May.
Ajayi came through Tottenham’s youth system, progressing from the club’s academy side to the under-18s before stepping up to the under-21 team in July 2024. His honours also include the U21 Premier League title with Tottenham U21 in the 2023-24 season and a Europa League winners’ medal with Tottenham’s senior club in 2024-25.
Born in London, Ajayi is eligible to represent both England and Nigeria. He stands 1.76m tall and has been listed as having a market value of €100,000.
Barnet compete in League Two and have added Ajayi to their squad after he began the campaign in Premier League 2. The winger’s arrival brings a player with experience of Tottenham’s academy structure and loan football with Doncaster and Bromley into the club’s 2026-27 group.
The agreement includes a return to Tottenham U21 at the end of the loan on 31 May 2027. Ajayi has therefore moved temporarily from Premier League 2 to League Two for the season, with Barnet securing his services until the campaign concludes.
