Pyramids name Youssef Obama to lead attack against Al Masry

Youssef Obama will lead the Pyramids attack against Al Masry for the third consecutive match when the sides meet in the third round of the Egyptian Premier League.

The match will kick off at 20:00 at New Suez Stadium, with both teams looking to maintain their perfect starts to the season.

Pyramids and Al Masry have each collected six points from their opening two matches and sit level at the top of the league table. Pyramids currently hold first place because of their superior goal difference.

Obama has been selected as the central attacking option once again, continuing his run in the starting line-up. The forward will operate ahead of a midfield containing Mohannad Lasheen, Hamed Hamdan, Mostafa Fathi, Ouda Fakhouri and Ahmed Atef “Katta”.

Ahmed Nader Bou Ali is included among the substitutes for the first time since joining Pyramids during the summer transfer window. The new signing was not involved in either of the club’s previous matches, but is now available to be called upon from the bench against Al Masry.

Pyramids manager will start with Ahmed El Shenawy in goal, behind a four-man defence of Mohamed Chibi, Ahmed Sami, Mahmoud Marei and Karim Hafez.

The meeting brings together two sides who have made identical starts to the Egyptian Premier League campaign. Both have won their first two games and have six points, although Pyramids’ better goal difference places them above Al Masry before kick-off.

The inclusion of Ahmed Nader Bou Ali gives Pyramids an additional option for the contest, while Obama’s continued selection underlines his role in the team’s attacking plans at the beginning of the season. With the two clubs level on points at the summit, the result at New Suez Stadium could determine which side remains in sole control of first place after the third round.
