Liverpool sign Bradley Barcola in club-record £106m deal

Liverpool have agreed an initial 106m deal to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, with a further 17m available in performance-related additions.

The 23-year-old France winger has agreed a five-year contract at Anfield, ending his two-year spell with the French champions. The transfer makes Barcola the second-most expensive signing in Liverpool’s history.

Only Alexander Isak has cost the club more. The Sweden striker joined Liverpool from Newcastle for 125m last summer.

PSG had previously placed a valuation of about 145m on Barcola, but Liverpool have negotiated a significantly lower guaranteed fee for the forward. The agreement represents one of the most substantial deals of the summer transfer window and strengthens Liverpool’s attacking options with a player who has developed rapidly in both domestic and international football.

Barcola’s move to Anfield is also the third major signing made by Iraola this summer. He follows Victor Munoz and Ronald Araujo as the latest significant addition to the squad.

From Lyon academy to PSG

Barcola started his football education at Olympique Lyonnais, progressing through the club’s academy before making his senior debut in November 2021.

He established himself as one of Ligue 1’s most exciting young talents during the 2022-23 season. At Lyon, he developed an effective attacking partnership with experienced striker Alexandre Lacazette, helping to underline his potential at the highest level of French football.

PSG completed his transfer in August 2023, offering him a five-year agreement. During his time in Paris, Barcola became an increasingly important part of Luis Enrique’s team and adapted to the demanding, pressing-focused style used by the Spanish manager.

His performances for PSG also helped him earn recognition with France. Barcola represented his country at several youth levels before receiving his first senior cap in 2024.

Since then, he has featured regularly in important matches for Les Bleus, including during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His progress with the national side has further increased his profile and contributed to the interest surrounding his move to Liverpool.

The deal gives Barcola the distinction of becoming Liverpool’s second-most expensive player, behind Isak, while also marking a major investment in a footballer who remains at the early stage of his senior career.

His arrival brings to an end his stay in the French capital and begins a new chapter at Anfield, where he will join a Liverpool squad that has already added Munoz and Araujo during the summer.
