Barcola targets Premier League glory after completing Liverpool move

Bradley Barcola says winning the Premier League is one of his biggest ambitions after completing his move to Liverpool from Paris Saint-Germain.

The France international was officially announced as a Liverpool player on Monday, having joined from the French champions. The 23-year-old will wear the number 29 shirt and is eager to make his debut at Anfield.

“I am very proud to represent Liverpool,” Barcola told the club’s official website. “I am very happy. It took a long time, but I am very happy today because I am now a Liverpool player, and all I want now is to get on the pitch and play.”

Barcola admitted Anfield had been an intimidating venue when he previously played there as an opponent, but said he was now relishing the opportunity to experience its atmosphere as a home player.

“At first it was very difficult because there are very good players here and a very strong team,” he said. “Then it becomes even harder because of the fans and the atmosphere in the stadium. So, knowing that I can play for this team today is very important to me, and all I hope for is to play as soon as possible.”

The forward believes his pace and attacking threat will complement Liverpool’s style under their manager.

“I want to add speed and danger,” Barcola said. “I think the manager’s style of play is very close to mine, so I think I can add more of these elements to the team. That is all I hope to do.”

His immediate ambition is to help Liverpool challenge for major honours, with the Premier League at the top of his list.

“I hope to achieve very big things,” he added. “First of all, winning the Premier League, because this is one of the biggest dreams of my life. I want to achieve that and stay with the team for the long term. That is why I signed a long-term contract, and I hope I can achieve my goals.”

Barcola also sent a message to Liverpool supporters.

“I will give everything I have for this team, and thank you for accepting me at a club of this size and for supporting us,” he said. “I hope I can make you proud of me.”

Barcola made 49 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain last season, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists as the club won Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League. He competed for a place in the team with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue.

Since moving from Lyon in the summer of 2023, Barcola has played 152 matches for Paris Saint-Germain in all competitions, scoring 39 goals and contributing 37 assists.

During his time with Paris Saint-Germain, he won two UEFA Champions League titles, two UEFA Super Cups, the Intercontinental Cup, three French Super Cups and two Coupe de France trophies. He also won three French Super Cup titles.

Liverpool’s other signings in the current transfer window are Jeremy Jacquet, Victor Munoz and Ronald Araujo.

Barcola was part of the France squad at the 2026 World Cup, where Les Bleus finished fourth.
