Liverpool agree £108m deal to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain

Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign France winger Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain for 125m euros (£108m), plus a further 20m euros in performance-related bonuses, according to The Athletic.

The 23-year-old is expected to sign a five-year contract with Liverpool and undergo a medical within the next 24 hours.

The agreement also includes an additional payment of 5m euros to Barcola. That sum will cover the cost of the sell-on fee negotiated by Olympique Lyonnais with Paris Saint-Germain when the player moved to the French club in 2023.

Barcola had been a major target for Liverpool during the current summer transfer window as the club looked to strengthen its attacking options. The proposed move would take him away from a Paris Saint-Germain side for whom he has become an important attacking player.

He made 49 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain last season, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists. During that campaign, he helped the club win Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League.

Barcola faced competition for his place in the Paris Saint-Germain attack from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue. Since joining from Olympique Lyonnais in the summer, he has made 152 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain in all competitions, scoring 39 goals and creating 37 more.

His honours with the club include two UEFA Champions League titles, two UEFA Super Cup victories, the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, three Trophee des Champions titles and two Coupe de France trophies. The list of honours also includes three French Super Cups.

Barcola has also represented France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Les Bleus finished fourth.

The reported agreement comes during a significant period of change at Liverpool. The club’s summer arrivals have included Victor Munoz, Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo, with Andoni Iraola overseeing the squad.

Liverpool have also seen Curtis Jones leave for Inter, while Ibrahima Konate, Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson departed after the ends of their contracts.

Barcola’s arrival would add another versatile option to Liverpool’s forward line. He can operate from either flank and has developed into one of France’s prominent young attacking players during his time at Paris Saint-Germain.

The transfer fee would make the deal one of the most significant of the summer, with the initial 125m euros potentially rising to 145m euros if the agreed bonuses are achieved. Liverpool would also pay the separate 5m-euro solidarity-related sum connected to the terms of Barcola’s earlier move from Olympique Lyonnais.

The medical is the next stage before the transfer can be formally completed. If Barcola passes that examination and final contractual details are concluded, he will begin a new five-season spell with Liverpool after three years at Paris Saint-Germain.
