Ibrahim Mbaye: PSG teenager set for reported €55m Aston Villa move

Paris Saint-Germain teenager Ibrahim Mbaye is reportedly close to joining Aston Villa in a deal worth €55m during the summer transfer window.

The 18-year-old Senegal international is understood to be seeking a fresh challenge and more regular playing time away from the French capital. According to The Athletic, an agreement has been reached between PSG and Aston Villa over the transfer of the forward, although the move has not yet been officially confirmed.

If completed at the reported fee, the deal would represent a significant investment by the ambitious Premier League club in one of European football’s highly rated young players. The proposed €55m figure is particularly notable given Mbaye’s age and would underline Aston Villa’s belief in his long-term potential.

Mbaye has won 15 caps for Senegal and has emerged as one of the promising young talents developed by PSG. Aston Villa are said to be keen to provide him with an environment in which he can continue his development and establish himself at the highest level.

The player remains under contract with PSG until June 2028. His current market valuation is listed at €30m by Transfermarkt, meaning a transfer for €55m would represent a substantial increase on that estimate.

Such a fee would also place Mbaye among the most lucrative departures in the history of PSG’s academy. The reported agreement would therefore mark an important step in the youngster’s career, while giving Aston Villa another opportunity to add developing talent to their squad.

Mbaye’s potential departure would come as PSG assess the future of one of their younger players, with the Senegalese forward apparently prioritising the chance to play more regularly. Aston Villa, meanwhile, would be securing a player who already has international experience despite being only 18.

Aston Villa are due to play their second Premier League match of the season against Arsenal shortly. The betting company 1xBet lists Aston Villa at odds of 6.00 to win, with a draw priced at 4.10 and an Arsenal victory at 1.49.

The reported €55m agreement remains subject to the final stages of the transfer process and official confirmation from the clubs. Until then, Mbaye remains contracted to PSG, but Aston Villa appear to be in a strong position to secure his services.
