Juventus step up pursuit of Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie
Juventus have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie as they look to complete the deal as quickly as possible.
The Italian football powerhouse are confident of securing the services of the experienced midfielder without cashing in on players at their disposal.
Juventus have already laid significant groundwork in their pursuit of the experienced midfielder, having spent several weeks holding discussions over a potential move. Kessie is understood to be one of the club’s priority targets as they continue to strengthen their squad.
However, Juventus could face competition from Serie A rivals Roma, who have also expressed interest in the former AC Milan and Atalanta midfielder. Reports indicate that Roma held talks with Kessie’s representatives earlier this week, potentially complicating Juventus’ efforts to secure his services.
Kessie’s future has also attracted interest from Saudi Arabia. The Ivorian previously rejected a lucrative proposal from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad, who reportedly offered him a three-year contract worth almost €10 million net per season.
Despite the sizeable offer from Saudi Arabia, Kessie appears open to continuing his career in Europe, with Juventus and Roma now emerging as the leading Serie A options for the midfielder.
Juventus will be hoping that the work they have already done in negotiations can give them an advantage as they attempt to beat Roma to the signing of the experienced Ivorian.
