FC Nantes bring in Ryad Hachem on contract running until 2029

France-Algeria midfielder Ryad Hachem has joined FC Nantes from Red Star FC, signing a contract that runs until 30 June 2029.

The 28-year-old central midfielder moves between two clubs in Ligue 2 after spending the previous four seasons with Red Star. Hachem had been part of Red Star’s squad at the start of the 2026-27 campaign, making three appearances and playing 225 minutes in the competition.

Hachem started all three of those matches and completed 83% of the available minutes. He has not scored or provided an assist this season and has received one yellow card.

His move to Nantes marks the latest step in a senior career that began with EA Guingamp B. Hachem joined the club from Paris FC Under-19s in 2017 before moving to SO Cholet in 2021. He switched to Red Star the following year on a free transfer and remained there until his move to Nantes.

Born in Livry-Gargan, France, Hachem has represented both French and Algerian football identities through his nationality. He stands 1.72 metres tall and is left-footed, with central midfield listed as his preferred position.

Hachem also has a French third-tier championship title to his name. His early footballing education included spells with JA Drancy and Red Star at youth level before he progressed into senior football through Paris FC and Guingamp.

The midfielder’s arrival gives Nantes another option in the centre of the pitch as the club competes in Ligue 2. His previous experience in the division includes the three opening appearances made for Red Star this season, while his new agreement keeps him at Nantes through the end of June 2029.

Hachem leaves Red Star after four seasons and has now completed his move to FC Nantes.
