Newcastle United consider €60m move for Stuttgart’s Bilal El Khannouss

Newcastle United are again weighing up a move for VfB Stuttgart playmaker Bilal El Khannouss as they reassess their attacking transfer options.

The Premier League club had identified Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo as a leading target, but the French side’s €70 million valuation has made a deal difficult.

That situation has brought El Khannouss back into focus. The 22-year-old Morocco international is reportedly open to leaving Stuttgart, while the Bundesliga club are also prepared to consider a sale as they seek significant income before the transfer window closes.

Stuttgart are believed to value El Khannouss at around €60 million. Galatasaray have already tested their resolve with an offer of approximately €22 million, but that proposal fell well short of the German club’s asking price.

Newcastle must now decide whether to make a formal approach. Their interest reflects the need to find a creative midfielder capable of adding quality between the lines and providing an attacking threat in the final third.
