Miloud Hamdi takes Ittihad Alexandria to FIFA over unpaid wages

A source close to former Ittihad Alexandria head coach Miloud Hamdi says the Algerian has decided to file a complaint with FIFA over unpaid financial dues owed by the Egyptian club.

Hamdi and his assistant, Aymen Habibi, have not received their outstanding payments, according to the source, who said both men had been given several assurances by the club’s management that the money would be paid.

However, no payment was made, prompting the former Ittihad Alexandria coaching team to take the matter to football’s world governing body.

“Miloud Hamdi and his assistant Aymen Habibi decided to submit a complaint to FIFA against Ittihad Alexandria because they have not received their outstanding dues,” the source told FilGoal.com.

The source added: “The pair received more than one promise from the club’s management to settle the outstanding payments, but no payment was made, so they decided to go to FIFA.”

Hamdi was appointed Ittihad Alexandria manager in April, replacing Tamer Mostafa.

The 55-year-old coach oversaw 10 matches during his time in charge. His side won three of those games, drew four and lost the remaining three.

Hamdi left the club at the end of the season, with Hamza El-Gamal appointed as his successor.

The FIFA complaint relates specifically to the delayed payments claimed by Hamdi and Habibi. The source did not provide details of the amount involved or indicate when the complaint was formally submitted.

Hamdi’s spell at Ittihad Alexandria therefore ended with a change in the coaching position and an unresolved dispute over his financial entitlements. The club subsequently moved forward with El-Gamal in charge, while Hamdi and Habibi chose to pursue their claims through FIFA after the assurances from the club’s management did not result in payment.
