Ayyoub Bouaddi on his way to Manchester as Morocco star closes in on City move

Morocco international Ayyoub Bouaddi is travelling to Manchester to complete his move from Lille to Manchester City in a deal that could make him the most expensive teenager in Premier League history.

The 18-year-old is expected in Manchester on Monday as City and Lille complete the final stages of an agreement worth €95m, with a further €5m available in potential add-ons.

Five-year deal for Morocco midfielder

According to Fabrizio Romano, Bouaddi is scheduled to travel to England as the two clubs finalise the remaining details of the transfer.

The Moroccan midfielder is expected to sign a five-year contract with an option to extend for another season.

Bouaddi’s family had already visited Manchester City several weeks ago as preparations for the move progressed.

Reports from The Guardian and The Times have also indicated that City have reached an agreement with Lille for the Morocco international.

Potential Premier League record

If completed, the transfer could see Bouaddi become the most expensive teenage signing in Premier League history.

The Times reports that the deal would surpass Leny Yoro’s reported £59m move from Lille to Manchester United.

The proposed €100m package would also represent a major investment by Manchester City in the future of their midfield.

Rapid rise from Lille to Morocco international

Bouaddi has enjoyed a remarkable rise since making his Lille first-team debut in October 2023 at the age of 16 years and three days.

That appearance made him the youngest player to feature in the UEFA Conference League.

His reputation continued to grow as he established himself at club level before gaining further attention during Morocco’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.

His composure and maturity in midfield attracted interest from several major European clubs, with Manchester City now closing in on his signature.
