Atletico Madrid’s Alemany draws line under transfer talk surrounding Julian Alvarez

Atletico Madrid sporting director Mateu Alemany has declared the club’s summer transfer business complete, ending speculation over further signings and sending a firm message about Julian Alvarez’s future.

The Atletico sporting director responded by pointing to the player’s immediate involvement with the team rather than the speculation surrounding him.

“If he is called up and ready to play, that says everything and reminds everyone of the importance of their role,” he said.

He added: “This issue had already been repeated, but the most important thing is our current situation. Julian has been called up and is ready to play, and that explains everything and puts everyone in the right place.”
