Tottenham confident of completing £74m Omar Marmoush transfer from Manchester City
Tottenham are confident they will complete the signing of Egypt international Omar Marmoush from Manchester City within the next few hours or days, according to transfer journalist Nicolo Schira.
The proposed deal is worth £74m, Schira reports, with Marmoush keen to join Tottenham as soon as possible. If the transfer is completed, the forward is expected to sign a contract running until the summer of 2031.
Other reports say Marmoush will not play for Manchester City against Bournemouth on Sunday and is preparing to undergo a medical with Tottenham on Monday.
English outlet TeamTalk has reported that Tottenham have reached an agreement with Marmoush over personal terms. The report says the two parties have agreed a five-season contract.
Tottenham are working to complete a double deal with Manchester City, having also reached an agreement to sign Brazilian winger Savinho. The combined value of the two transfers is expected to be £140m.
The London club are pursuing both deals at the same time and are confident the remaining formalities can be completed over the weekend.
Marmoush is viewed by Tottenham as a key part of their attacking rebuild under manager Roberto De Zerbi. The club’s interest in strengthening their forward line comes after they began their Premier League campaign with a 3-0 defeat by Brentford at home on Saturday in the opening round of the competition.
Eintracht Frankfurt are also waiting for the transfer to be finalised. The German club are due to receive 15% of Marmoush’s transfer fee if he moves to Tottenham.
Marmoush joined Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025. Since arriving at the club, he has made 62 appearances, scoring 16 goals and providing six assists.
During his time with Manchester City, Marmoush has won the FA Cup and the EFL Cup.
Tottenham’s move for the 26-year-old is part of the club’s attempt to reshape their attack under De Zerbi. The proposed agreement would see Marmoush move on after his spell at Manchester City, while Tottenham also seek to bring Savinho to north London as part of the same round of negotiations.
