Sunday football: Al Ahly start league campaign as Liverpool and Barcelona feature

Al Ahly begin their Egyptian Premier League campaign on Sunday, 23 August 2026, when they face Eastern Company Enppi in one of a number of matches taking place across several domestic competitions.

The match at Cairo International Stadium is scheduled for 20:00 and will be broadcast on On Sport. The day’s fixtures also include Liverpool’s visit to Newcastle United, Manchester City’s meeting with Bournemouth and Barcelona’s away game against Elche.

Egyptian Premier League

Al Gouna host Modern Sport at 17:00 in the opening round of the Egyptian Premier League. The game will be played at Khaled Beshara Stadium in El Gouna and shown on On Sport.

Al Ahly then face Eastern Company Enppi at Cairo International Stadium at 20:00, with coverage also available on On Sport.

Manchester City face Bournemouth at 16:00, with the game scheduled to be shown on beIN SPORTS 1.
