Saudi Arabia becomes next stop for Algeria’s Boulbina and Senegal’s Diedhiou
Adil Boulbina has left Al Duhail SC to join Al Diriyah FC, while Senegal international Famara Diedhiou has signed for Saudi Arabian second-tier side Al Orobah.
The two moves were confirmed on 23 August 2026 as part of Africafoot’s live coverage of transfer developments, official announcements, records and other news involving African footballers.
Boulbina’s transfer comes despite Al Duhail SC’s efforts to retain the 23-year-old Algeria international. Africafoot had previously reported exclusively that the forward was considering a move away from the club, and he has now committed his future to Al Diriyah FC.
Al Diriyah FC announced the signing in a statement published on Instagram. Boulbina’s estimated market value is €3m.
The move represents a change of club for Boulbina after Al Duhail SC attempted to keep him. The announcement confirms that Al Diriyah FC has secured the services of a player whose value is assessed at €3m, although no further contract details were provided in the report.
Diedhiou joins Al Orobah
Famara Diedhiou, meanwhile, will continue his career in Saudi Arabia after leaving Clermont Foot at the end of his contract.
The Senegal international has signed for Al Orobah, a club competing in the second division of Saudi Arabian football. Al Orobah confirmed the transfer on social media, with Diedhiou agreeing a one-season contract that will keep him at the club until June 2027.
At 33, Diedhiou arrives at the Sakakah-based club with the experience of a player who has represented several clubs in England, France and Spain. The 2021 African champion has previously played for Bristol City, Angers, Clermont and Grenade.
His move to Al Orobah follows reports that he was close to joining Al Bukiryah. Africafoot had revealed exclusively that the Senegal striker was being considered by Al Bukiryah, but Diedhiou ultimately opted for the project offered by Al Orobah.
The transfer gives Diedhiou a new opportunity in Saudi Arabia after his spell with Clermont Foot ended. It also marks another stage in the career of the former Bristol City, Angers, Clermont and Grenade forward, who will now compete in the Saudi second tier with Al Orobah.
Both deals form part of the latest transfer activity involving African players. Boulbina’s departure from Al Duhail SC and Diedhiou’s decision to join Al Orobah were initially the subject of reports before the respective Saudi clubs confirmed the moves through their official channels.
