Al-Diriyah sign Algeria forward Adel Boubina from Al Duhail
Al-Diriyah have signed Algeria international Adel Boubina from Qatar’s Al Duhail as they strengthen their squad for their first season in the Saudi Pro League.
The 23-year-old forward joins the newly promoted Saudi club after an impressive campaign in Qatar, where he scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.
Al-Diriyah confirmed the deal as part of their preparations for the new season. The club won promotion to the Saudi Pro League for the first time, alongside Al-Faisaly and Abha.
Boubina’s arrival is intended to add greater attacking threat to a side preparing for the demands of top-flight football in Saudi Arabia. His goalscoring record with Al Duhail was built across both domestic and continental competition.
He made 19 appearances in the Qatar Stars League last season, scoring five goals and creating five more. In the AFC Champions League Elite, he featured eight times, finding the net six times and supplying one assist.
Those performances helped establish Boubina as one of Al Duhail’s notable attacking players before his move to Al-Diriyah. The Saudi club did not disclose the length or financial terms of the agreement in its announcement.
Boubina had previously been close to joining Egyptian club Zamalek before leaving Algerian side Paradou AC two seasons ago. Instead, he moved to Al Duhail, where he enjoyed a highly productive spell and attracted attention with his performances.
The transfer gives Al-Diriyah a forward with experience in domestic football in both Algeria and Qatar, as well as exposure to elite Asian competition. It also marks the latest stage in a career that has seen Boubina progress from Paradou AC to the Qatar Stars League and now to the Saudi Pro League.
At international level, Boubina has played 13 matches for Algeria and scored five goals. His record for the national team adds further pedigree to Al-Diriyah’s newly promoted squad.
The club will begin the new Saudi Pro League campaign aiming to establish themselves among the country’s top-flight teams after securing promotion for the first time. Alongside Al-Faisaly and Abha, Al-Diriyah will face a higher level of competition next season, with Boubina expected to play a central role in their attacking plans.
