Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Brazilian forward Savio will miss several weeks because of a muscle injury.
Savio joined Tottenham from Manchester City in the final days of the summer transfer window, but his start at the club has now been disrupted by the injury.
“Unfortunately, Savio has suffered a muscle injury,” De Zerbi told reporters. “I do not know how many weeks he will be out, but he will certainly miss several weeks.”
Tottenham will also be without Lucas Bergvall for Monday’s meeting with Coventry City, as the midfielder has not recovered from his injury.
“Lucas Bergvall will not play against Coventry City because he has not recovered from his injury,” De Zerbi added.
The match at Coventry City will take place on Monday as part of the seventh round of the English Premier League.
De Zerbi expects Pedro Porro to return to the squad next week.
“Pedro Porro is expected to return to the team next week,” he said.
Tottenham are still searching for their first victory in the English Premier League this season. They have drawn three matches and lost three.
