Mostafa Mohamed’s Nantes exile could end with a return to Turkey
Mostafa Mohamed has received offers from Turkey as his future at FC Nantes becomes increasingly uncertain, according to L’Equipe.
The Egypt international has not returned to the Nantes squad since the club’s collective pre-season training resumed. He was absent from the team’s return and remains separated from his team-mates, leaving his position at the French club unresolved.
Interest from Turkey could now provide a possible solution to the situation. Mohamed is familiar with Turkish football after spending time at Galatasaray before moving to FC Nantes, and offers from the country could give him an opportunity to revive his career while bringing his time in France to an end.
No departure has yet been agreed, however. The 28-year-old remains under contract with Nantes, but his continued absence from the squad, combined with the reported interest from Turkish clubs, has increased speculation over what happens next.
A sufficiently attractive proposal could persuade the relevant parties to consider a transfer. Such a move would allow Mohamed to return to a league he already knows, while Nantes would have the chance to resolve a situation that has become increasingly delicate.
The coming weeks are expected to be important for the Egypt international, whose future is now among the issues being discussed during the transfer window. Mohamed had also previously been monitored by Pyramids FC, as reported exclusively by Africafoot.
The forward’s contract with FC Nantes runs until 30 June 2027. His market value is estimated at €3.5m, while his annual salary at the club is €1,770,000, equivalent to 1,150,500,000 FCFA.
Mohamed joined Nantes after his spell with Galatasaray, where he had already established experience of Turkish football. That background could make a move back to Turkey a practical option if one of the interested clubs submits an offer that meets Nantes’ expectations.
For now, the player’s situation remains open. He is still officially a Nantes player, but his exclusion from the group means his future is being closely monitored as Turkish interest develops.
