Kgomotso Mosadi joins Orbit College after leaving Magesi FC
Former Magesi FC midfielder Kgomotso Mosadi has joined Motsepe Foundation Championship club Orbit College after leaving the Limpopo side.
Soccer Laduma can confirm that Mosadi has signed a contract with Orbit College, ending his brief period as a free agent following the breakdown of negotiations with Magesi FC.
The 27-year-old made the move after Magesi and the player were unable to reach an agreement over a new salary. The discussions followed Magesi’s relegation from the top flight to the second tier.
Mosadi’s representative, Pontsho Madumo of Cream Sports Management, confirmed the length of the agreement.
“It’s a one-year deal with an option for another year,” Madumo said.
Mosadi was a regular for Magesi last season, missing only three league matches. He made 27 league appearances for the club, known as Dikwena tsa Meetse, during the campaign.
His move to Orbit College gives him the opportunity to remain in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after Magesi’s drop from the top division. The two clubs will compete at the same level in the season ahead, although Mosadi will now represent a new team.
At Orbit College, Mosadi will link up with former Kaizer Chiefs left-back Sibusiso Mabiliso, while the squad also includes goalkeeper Ethan Visagie. Visagie is on loan at Orbit College from Orlando Pirates.
Orbit College will begin their Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign on Saturday, when they face Leicesterford City.
The agreement includes the option of a further year, meaning Mosadi could remain at Orbit College beyond the initial 12-month period if that clause is taken up. His immediate focus, however, will be on settling into his new club before the start of the Championship campaign.
Mosadi’s departure from Magesi followed the failure to agree new financial terms after the club’s relegation. His 27 league appearances last season underline the role he played for the Limpopo outfit, where he was absent for only three matches.
The move also brings an end to the uncertainty surrounding his next club after his exit from Magesi. Orbit College have secured a midfielder with recent top-flight experience, while Mosadi has found a new home in the second tier ahead of the opening round.
Orbit College’s first fixture against Leicesterford City will provide Mosadi with his first opportunity to begin his new chapter with the club.
