Richards Bay move Kaizer Chiefs fixture to Princess Magogo Stadium

Richards Bay FC have moved their Betway Premiership match against Kaizer Chiefs from Moses Mabhida Stadium to Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban.

The fixture remains scheduled for Wednesday, 26 August 2026, with kick-off in the evening. Richards Bay confirmed the change after initially listing Moses Mabhida Stadium as the venue for the meeting with Amakhosi.

The Natal Rich Boyz said the switch was required because of “unforeseen circumstances”, although the club did not provide further details about the reason.

“Richards Bay Football Club would like to inform the supporters and mediahouses about the change of venue for our match against Kaizer Chiefs FC,” the club stated.

“This match was supposed to take place at Moses Mabhida Stadium on 26.08.2026 but due to unforeseen circumstances the new confirmed venue is Princess Magogo Stadium, KwaMashu in Durban.

“We would like to apologize for any inconvenience that would occurred but the matter is beyond our control.”

Supporters planning to attend the fixture will therefore need to make arrangements for the new location, with the match no longer taking place at Moses Mabhida Stadium as originally scheduled.

The game will be Richards Bay’s fourth match of the new season. They have collected two draws and suffered one defeat from their opening three fixtures.

Kaizer Chiefs have made the stronger start, recording two victories and one draw in their first three matches. The contrast in the teams’ early results will add significance to the encounter, although both clubs will now prepare for the fixture at Princess Magogo Stadium.

Richards Bay’s announcement confirms the updated venue but does not indicate any alteration to the date or the evening kick-off. The club’s statement also made clear that the change was outside its control.

The match will see Richards Bay host Kaizer Chiefs in Durban, with the home side’s supporters having originally expected to watch the game at Moses Mabhida Stadium. The revised arrangements mean Princess Magogo Stadium will instead stage the Betway Premiership contest on 26 August.
