Omar Marmoush to submit opening bid for Marmoush

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing to make their first official approach for Egyptian international Omar Marmoush as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.

The north London club, under Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi, are planning a major restructuring of the squad as they aim to return to the Premier League title race, with Marmoush emerging as one of their priority targets.

De Zerbi is understood to be a strong admirer of the Manchester City forward and reportedly sees the Egyptian international as an ideal player to lead Tottenham’s attack.

Tottenham are expected to make an approach on Thursday to open negotiations with Manchester City over the potential signings of Marmoush and Brazilian winger Savinho.

The Premier League outfit are looking to reshape their attacking unit for the coming season, with reports suggesting that the club would like to build an attacking trio featuring Marmoush, Savinho and Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo.

However, Tottenham have also identified alternatives should they fail to reach an agreement for Savinho. Chelsea winger Pedro Neto is reportedly among the options being considered as a replacement.

Marmoush, however, appears to be a major priority for the London club as they seek a versatile forward capable of playing across the front line and providing goals and creativity.

The Egyptian joined Manchester City with high expectations and has shown flashes of his quality, but competition for places has made it difficult for him to establish himself as an undisputed starter.

His situation could become an important factor in determining his future, particularly if he continues to struggle for consistent starting opportunities at the Etihad Stadium.

Tottenham’s interest could therefore present Marmoush with an opportunity to take on a more prominent role and become one of the central figures in a team undergoing significant changes under De Zerbi.

Manchester City, meanwhile, will have to decide whether they are prepared to negotiate his departure should Tottenham submit a formal proposal.

The situation is expected to develop further on Thursday, when Tottenham reportedly plan to make their first move and begin discussions regarding a potential deal for the Egyptian star.

Any agreement is likely to depend on Manchester City’s valuation of Marmoush and whether Tottenham can meet the financial demands required to convince the Premier League champions to part ways with the forward.
