Chouaib Belarouch to join Stade Reims

Young Moroccan goalkeeper Chouaib Belarouch is set to begin a new chapter in his career in French football after reaching an agreement to join Stade Reims from the Mohammed VI Football Academy.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper has successfully completed his medical examinations and is expected to sign a long-term contract with the French club. Belarouch will wear the number 40 jersey following his arrival at Reims.

The highly rated goalkeeper is expected to initially join Stade Reims’ reserve team, where he will continue his development while adapting to the demands and tactical structure of French football. The move is seen as an important step in his career as he looks to gain valuable experience before eventually competing for a place in the first team.

Belarouch has attracted attention through his performances at both academy and international level. His development at the Mohammed VI Football Academy has helped establish him as one of Morocco’s promising young goalkeepers.

He was also part of the Moroccan U-17 national team that won the 2025 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, contributing to the country’s successful campaign. His performances on the international stage further increased his profile and attracted interest from clubs outside Morocco.

The move to France at just 18 years old represents another major opportunity for Belarouch to continue his football education in a highly competitive environment. French clubs have developed a strong reputation for recruiting young talents from Africa and other parts of the world and providing them with structured pathways through their academy and reserve systems.

For Belarouch, joining Stade Reims offers the chance to train and compete within a professional European setup while gradually adapting to the physical, tactical and technical demands of the game in France.

The Moroccan goalkeeper will now look to use his time with the reserve side to gain regular competitive experience, improve his abilities and eventually make the step up to senior football with the French club.
