Justin Njinmah linked with Monaco move after Bundesliga spell at Werder Bremen
German-Nigerian winger Justin Njinmah is being linked with a move from Werder Bremen to Monaco in Ligue 1.
The 25-year-old right winger has been with Werder’s senior side since January 2022 and is now the subject of reported interest from the French club. A transfer would take him from the Bundesliga to Ligue 1, although there is no indication that a deal has been agreed.
Njinmah has made 84 Bundesliga appearances for Werder, scoring 14 goals and providing six assists. His current market value is listed at €5m.
He initially moved to Werder Bremen from the club’s reserve side before spending part of the 2021-22 season on loan with Borussia Dortmund II. He returned to Werder at the end of the following season and has remained with the Bremen club since then.
Njinmah developed in northern Germany, having started his youth career with Altona 93 before spells at Eimsbutteler TV and Holstein Kiel. He represents both German and Nigerian footballing heritage through his listed nationalities.
The reported Monaco interest comes with Njinmah entering his mid-20s and established as a Bundesliga player, but his current status remains unchanged: he is a Werder Bremen player, with the club listed as his current side.
