Osasuna eye Villarreal defender Willy Kambwala for LaLiga switch
Willy Kambwala, the French and DR Congo centre-back, is being linked with a move from Villarreal to fellow LaLiga club Osasuna.
Kambwala, 21, has yet to make a LaLiga appearance for Villarreal this season, with the club having played one possible match. He joined the Spanish side from Manchester United in July 2024 in a deal worth €10m.
The defender came through Manchester United’s academy and was part of the club’s FA Cup-winning squad in 2024. He has since established Villarreal as his current club, but the reported interest from Osasuna could provide a new option within Spain’s top flight.
Kambwala’s current market value is listed at €3m, below the fee Villarreal paid to sign him two years ago. The right-footed defender stands 1.92m tall and is contracted to Villarreal until 30 June 2029.
The reported move would be between two LaLiga clubs, with Kambwala potentially leaving Villarreal despite the long-term contract. No transfer fee or agreement has been reported, and the rumour remains unconfirmed.
