Bamba Dieng to join Lazio

Senegalese international Bamba Dieng is reportedly on the verge of joining Italian Serie A side Lazio after becoming a free agent this summer.

The 26-year-old forward has been without a club since leaving French Ligue 1 outfit Lorient, but he could now make a fresh start in Italy, with Lazio said to be closing in on an agreement to sign him.

According to reports, Lazio and Dieng have reached an agreement over the player’s arrival, with the Senegal international expected to travel for his medical examination on Thursday, August 20.

The medical will reportedly be particularly thorough, with the club set to pay close attention to Dieng’s knee before finalising the transfer.

He is expected to proceed with the signing of his contract after his mandatory medical test.

Dieng could represent an important addition to Lazio’s attacking options, especially after enjoying an impressive 2025/26 campaign with Lorient in Ligue 1.

The Senegalese forward scored 10 goals and provided one assist during the season, demonstrating his ability to make a significant contribution in the final third.

His performances also helped maintain his reputation as an experienced attacking option, having previously played for clubs including Marseille and Lorient.

Dieng had earlier been linked with a move to Turkish side Amed SK, but the proposed transfer collapsed at the last minute, leaving the Senegal international without a club.

However, Lazio’s interest could now provide Dieng with the opportunity to revive his career in one of Europe’s top leagues.

With the medical examination scheduled for Thursday, the Senegalese striker is now one step away from completing his move to Italy, provided he receives the green light from Lazio’s medical team.
