Roma to offload Anas Salah Eddine

Moroccan international Anas Salah Eddine continues to search for a new club after being declared surplus to requirement under by Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini’s ahead of the new season.

The 23-year-old full-back was expected to leave Roma during the current summer transfer window, with a move to Greek side Olympiacos appearing close to completion. However, the transfer collapsed after Salah Eddine rejected the proposed move.

As per reports, Roma and Olympiacos had already reached an agreement worth around €7 million, plus a further €1 million in potential bonuses, but the player’s decision brought the deal to an end.

Salah Eddine’s situation at Roma is unlikely to change. The Moroccan remains on the club’s list of players available for transfer as Roma wait for new offers before the summer window closes.

Belgian side Royal Antwerp had also previously shown interest, reportedly proposing a loan deal with an option to buy.

Other clubs are understood to be monitoring the Atlas Lion, with Roma prepared to consider suitable proposals that satisfy both the club and the player.

Salah Eddine spent last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven before returning to the Italian capital. However, he has struggled to establish himself in Gasperini’s plans and is now facing an increasingly likely departure from Roma.

With the summer transfer window still open, the Moroccan defender will now have to weigh up his options as he looks for a move that can offer him regular playing time and a fresh start.
