Real Sociedad and Al-Hilal target Senegal and Chelsea defender Mamadou Sarr
Chelsea defender Mamadou Sarr could leave Stamford Bridge during the current summer transfer window as interest in the Senegalese international continues to grow.
The 20-year-old centre-back returned to Chelsea after spending the second half of last season on loan at Strasbourg, but he has found opportunities with the Premier League side difficult to come by.
His limited playing time has attracted the attention of several clubs, particularly from Spain and Saudi Arabia, with his future at Chelsea now becoming a subject of speculation.
According to reports, Real Sociedad are interested in signing Sarr on loan. The La Liga club are reportedly impressed by the defender’s qualities and are exploring the possibility of reaching an agreement with Chelsea for his temporary transfer.
Real Sociedad are believed to view Sarr as a player capable of strengthening their defensive options while also giving him the regular first-team football he needs to continue his development.
However, the Spanish club face competition from Saudi Arabia, where Al-Hilal are also reportedly considering a move for the Senegalese defender.
The Saudi giants could attempt to convince Chelsea to allow Sarr to leave, either on a temporary basis or through a permanent transfer, depending on the terms of any proposal.
Sarr remains under contract with Chelsea until June 2033, giving the London club significant control over his future.
Despite the length of his contract, Chelsea could still consider allowing the youngster to leave if the right offer arrives, particularly if it guarantees him valuable playing experience away from Stamford Bridge.
For Sarr, the priority will be finding a destination where he can play regularly and continue his development at senior level.
With Real Sociedad pushing for a loan deal and Al-Hilal monitoring the situation, the coming weeks could determine whether the highly rated Senegalese defender remains at Chelsea or begins another chapter elsewhere.
