Babacar Bousso: Senegal striker makes UAE switch to Al-Wasl

Senegalese centre-forward Babacar Bousso has joined Al-Wasl from AJEL Rufisque, moving from Senegal’s Ligue 1 to the UAE Pro League.

The 18-year-old completed the switch on 18 August 2026 after emerging from AJEL Rufisque’s senior set-up. Bousso’s arrival gives Al-Wasl a teenage attacking option as the Dubai club adds a forward who has already experienced top-level football in Senegal.

Bousso made nine Ligue 1 appearances for AJEL Rufisque, accumulating 63 minutes of playing time. Those appearances represent his recorded senior league experience before his move to the United Arab Emirates.

Born in Saint-Louis, Senegal, on 7 May 2008, Bousso stands 1.85 metres tall and operates primarily as a centre-forward. He is right-footed and moves to Al-Wasl with his playing profile centred on the striker position.

The transfer marks a change of footballing environment for Bousso, who will now play in the UAE Pro League after his time in Senegal’s Ligue 1. Al-Wasl’s first-team squad becomes his new base as he begins the next stage of his career outside his home country.

Bousso’s contract with Al-Wasl runs until 30 June 2029, giving the club a long-term agreement with the Senegal international. His recorded market value is €10,000, while the financial terms of the move have not been disclosed.

The transfer was registered on 18 August, with Bousso joining Al-Wasl during the 2026 summer window. He leaves AJEL Rufisque after making his documented senior appearances in Ligue 1 and becomes part of an Al-Wasl side competing in the UAE’s top division.

At 18, Bousso is among the younger players to make the move from Senegalese league football to the UAE Pro League. His immediate professional background consists of nine Ligue 1 appearances, while his new contract keeps him at Al-Wasl through the end of the 2028-29 season.

Bousso has therefore completed his move from AJEL Rufisque to Al-Wasl, where his contract is valid until June 2029.
