AC Milan demand €35m for Christopher Nkunku
RB Leipzig face a significant financial decision if they want to bring Christopher Nkunku back from AC Milan.
The Italian club have reportedly placed a €35 million valuation on the 28-year-old attacker and are unwilling to entertain a loan proposal.
Leipzig would prefer to sign Nkunku initially on loan with an option to buy, but that structure does not match Milan’s position. The Rossoneri want a permanent sale, meaning negotiations could depend on whether the Bundesliga side are ready to meet the asking price.
A return to Leipzig would reunite Nkunku with the club where he became one of Europe’s most productive forwards. The France international remains open to a move back to Germany, although Milan’s financial demands are a major obstacle.
Leipzig’s interest in Nkunku is separate from their pursuit of Cologne teenager Said El Mala. The Saxony club are still monitoring the 19-year-old, but Newcastle United, Arsenal and Atlético Madrid are also competing for his signature.
Nkunku has no interest in moving to Turkey or Saudi Arabia at this stage. His immediate future is therefore likely to depend on whether Leipzig can strike a deal with Milan or another suitable European club comes forward before the transfer window closes.
