Mohamed Ibrahim returns to part of Zamalek training ahead of Al Ittihad Alexandria opener
Mohamed Ibrahim has taken part in part of Zamalek’s team training after completing his rehabilitation from a knee bruise, as the club continued preparations for their opening Premier League fixture against Al Ittihad Alexandria.
Zamalek trained on Tuesday evening at the secondary pitch at Air Defense Stadium, with the session focused on preparations for Friday’s match against Al Ittihad Alexandria. The first-round fixture is scheduled to take place at Cairo International Stadium on 21 August.
Ibrahim’s return to part of the collective session was the main development from the training programme. The player had completed his rehabilitation and recovery work following the knee injury, allowing him to rejoin his team-mates for a section of the workout.
Before training began, head coach Moataz Gamal held a meeting with the players. He called on them to remain fully focused during the preparations and to give their maximum effort in pursuit of victory in the opening round of the league.
Gamal also stressed the importance of following the team’s instructions. During the meeting, he outlined several of the technical and tactical elements Zamalek would work on during the session and explained the roles expected of the players on the pitch.
The coaching staff then arranged a physical training period under the supervision of fitness coach Nuno Costa Ribeiro. The programme began with the players running around the pitch before they moved on to a number of light ball exercises.
Zamalek subsequently worked through a technical section. The squad was divided into groups for tactical drills designed to develop the instructions discussed by the coaching staff.
Gamal and his assistants remained closely involved throughout that phase, providing guidance to the players as they carried out their assigned movements and roles. The work formed part of the team’s preparations for the upcoming fixtures, with particular attention on the opening league match against Al Ittihad Alexandria.
The session ended with a small-sided technical game. The exercise was used to put into practice the tactical work completed earlier in the training session and brought Tuesday’s preparations to a close.
Zamalek will face Al Ittihad Alexandria in their first match of the Premier League season on Friday, 21 August, at Cairo International Stadium. The club’s training programme is continuing ahead of that fixture, with Ibrahim now having returned to part of the team work after completing his recovery programme.
