Toulouse secure Germany-Nigeria defender David Odogu from AC Milan
Toulouse have signed Germany and Nigeria centre-back David Odogu on loan from AC Milan, giving the Ligue 1 club a new defensive option for the 2026-27 campaign.
Odogu, 20, joins Toulouse after leaving the Serie A side and has been registered as a defender at the French club. The Berlin-born player stands 1.91m tall and is right-footed.
The move takes Odogu into French football after his time with AC Milan, while Toulouse become his latest club in a career that began in Germany. He previously played for VfL Wolfsburg’s under-17 side before moving on to Milan.
Odogu’s early honours came with Wolfsburg and Germany. He helped Wolfsburg Under-17s win the German Under-17 Bundesliga North/North-east title in the 2022-23 season, before playing a part in Germany’s successful 2023 campaign at international youth level.
Germany Under-17s won both the Under-17 World Cup and the European Under-17 Championship that year. Those remain the defender’s recorded international honours, with his dual nationality linking him to both Germany and Nigeria.
His arrival gives Toulouse a young central defender with experience of a major European league environment through his time at AC Milan. The transfer also represents a move between two of Europe’s leading domestic competitions, with Odogu switching from Italy’s Serie A to France’s Ligue 1.
Toulouse’s squad list places him at centre-back and assigns him the number 19 shirt. His recorded market value is €5m, although the deal itself is a loan and no transfer fee has been stated.
Odogu’s Toulouse contract is listed as running until 30 June 2027. The move was completed on 18 August 2026, when he officially joined the French club from AC Milan.
