Njabulo Blom begins new chapter with Borneo FC in Indonesia

Njabulo Blom is settling into his new surroundings at Borneo FC as the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder prepares for a fresh start in Indonesia.

The 26-year-old joined the Indonesian club after leaving Vietnamese side Nam Dinh FC in May 2026. His spell in Vietnam proved frustrating, with the midfielder departing Nam Dinh without making a single competitive appearance.

Blom will now be hoping to rebuild his confidence and rediscover the form that made him one of the most highly regarded graduates of the Kaizer Chiefs academy. His move to Borneo FC offers an opportunity to make a stronger impression and re-establish himself on the pitch.

The new campaign is still some way away, allowing Blom time to adapt to his new environment and become familiar with his new team-mates. Borneo FC have been using the period before the start of the season to continue their preparations, while also giving their players the chance to settle as a group.

That process has included activities away from football. Blom was recently pictured taking part in a kayaking outing with his team-mates, offering a glimpse of the squad enjoying some downtime during their preparations.

The midfielder also shared an image showing a more relaxed side of his life away from the pitch. Casually dressed and enjoying some quiet time, Blom appeared to be embracing his new surroundings as he begins his latest chapter in Southeast Asia.

Those early signs will be encouraging for the former Chiefs player, although he will ultimately be judged by what he produces in competitive matches. Blom will be looking to turn his positive start away from football into consistent performances once the season begins.

Borneo FC are scheduled to open their new campaign against Persika Jakarta on 5 September. Blom is expected to compete for a place in the starting XI as he looks to establish himself in the team.

His move comes after a difficult period at Nam Dinh FC, where he was unable to make a competitive appearance before leaving the club in May. The change of scenery at Borneo FC gives him the chance to put that disappointment behind him and focus on making an impact in Indonesia.

Blom’s progress will be watched closely by supporters of Kaizer Chiefs, where he developed through the academy, as well as followers of his new club. For now, the midfielder appears to be enjoying the early stages of his time at Borneo FC and preparing for the challenge ahead.
