Clinton Nsiala and Charles Pickel Feature as Sharjah Draw with Al Jazira

Clinton Nsiala and Charles Monginda Pickel both featured as Sharjah played out a goalless draw against Al Jazira in the third round of the United Arab Emirates League Cup group stage.

The two Congolese players were involved throughout the contest as Sharjah secured a point against their opponents. The result marked the team’s first draw in the competition after winning their previous match.

Nsiala attracted particular attention as he continued his early progress at the club. The defender was making his second appearance for Sharjah since completing his move from Scottish side Glasgow Rangers a few days ago.

The former AC Milan reserve player has made a promising start to life in the United Arab Emirates, with his performances reportedly impressing the coaching staff. His early involvement suggests he is working to establish himself within the team following his recent arrival.

The match against Al Jazira provided another opportunity for the defender to demonstrate his qualities as he adapts to his new surroundings and seeks to secure a regular place in the squad.

Pickel also featured in the encounter, continuing his involvement with the club. The Congolese international defensive midfielder has faced competition following the arrival of new players, which has affected his opportunities.

He also missed the most recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign. However, his appearance against Al Jazira offered another chance to contribute to Sharjah’s efforts as the club continues its League Cup campaign.

The draw leaves Sharjah looking to build greater consistency in the competition after following up their previous victory with a stalemate. The team will hope to make further progress during the remainder of the season, with their recruitment expected to strengthen their options.

Sharjah currently occupy seventh position in the group standings with four points from their opening matches. They will now turn their attention to domestic league action as they prepare for their next fixture.

Their next assignment will be an away match against Ajman on Sunday, 18 October, in the sixth round of the league season.

Nsiala and Pickel will be hoping to maintain their involvement as Sharjah seek to improve their results and build momentum in the coming weeks.
