Montakhab El-Suez Petrojet complete 11-signing rebuild ahead of new season

Montakhab El-Suez Petrojet have completed 11 signings during the summer transfer window as they prepare for the new season, while also promoting two players from their academy to professional contracts.

The club have retained 21 players from last season’s squad, according to the announcement, and have added two further members to the first-team group after handing professional deals to academy graduates Gamal Fawzi and Ahmed Abdel Latif.

The recruitment follows the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ decision to merge Petrojet with Montakhab El-Suez, with the new arrangement coming into effect from the start of the coming season.

The 11 new arrivals are:

– Youssef Abdel-Tawab, defender, from El Gouna FC – Hossam Adel, attacking midfielder, from Al Ahly – Abdel-Hady Morshed, Palestinian forward, from Lebanese club Al Ansar – Samir Mohamed, forward, from Al Ahly – Abdel-Rahman Ramadan, defensive midfielder, from El Dakhleya – Omar Diaa, right-back, from Team FC – Karim El-Deeb, left-back, from Al Ittihad Alexandria – Abou Bakr Liadi, attacking midfielder, from Al Ittihad Alexandria – Godwin Chika, forward, from Modern Sport – Friday Michael, forward, from Ceramica Cleopatra – Kejoglo Segwata, attacking midfielder, from South African club Siwelele

The club also confirmed professional contracts for Fawzi, a central midfielder, and Abdel Latif, who plays at left-back, after both players were promoted to the senior squad.

The players retained from last season’s squad are Omar Salah, Mohamed Khalifa, Abdel Kafy Ragab, Ahmed Behbeh, Barakat Hegag, Ahmed Yassin, Mahmoud Shadid, Islam Abdullah, Mohamed Ali, Adham Hamed, Mostafa Gaber, Mostafa El Badry, Badr Moussa, Mohamed Ibrahim Dodo, Amadou Bah and Spandy.

Four additional players remain registered as under-age members of the squad: Siko Sonko, born in 2006; Adel Ali, born in 2005; Mohamed El-Amin, born in 2008; and Hamza Ali, born in 2008.

The team will be managed by Sayed Eid.

Petrojet finished fifth in the relegation group last season. The newly formed Montakhab El-Suez Petrojet side will begin its campaign on Saturday, 22 August, when it faces Petroleum Assiut.
