Kaizer Chiefs send five players out on loan in Motsepe Foundation Championship

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed loan moves for five players, with all of them joining clubs in the Motsepe Foundation Championship for the upcoming season.

Midfielder Samkelo Zwane will spend the campaign with Hope FC, who are newcomers to the division. The move gives Zwane another opportunity to secure regular playing time after a difficult loan spell with Siwelele FC in the Betway Premiership last season.

Zwane found it hard to establish himself as a regular under Siwelele head coach Lehlohonolo Seema. His switch to Hope FC means he will now join a club where he can look to play a more consistent role.

Goalkeeper Bontle Molefe has also moved to Hope FC on loan. He spent the second half of last season with Leicesterford City, although that club used Tebatso Phoku for most of its matches in goal.

At Hope FC, Molefe will compete with Leathan Croates for the starting position. The loan will give him another chance to gain playing experience away from Kaizer Chiefs during the new campaign.

Sifiso Timba is returning to Gomora United after agreeing another loan move to the club. Timba spent the second half of last season with Gomora United, where his performances during his short spell made a positive impression.

That contribution convinced the club that it wanted him back for the new term, and the latest agreement will see Timba remain with Gomora United for the campaign.

Vicky Mkhawana and Ofentse Kgosana have both joined Real Native FC on loan. The club was formerly known as Casric Stars.

Mkhawana spent the second half of last season with Kruger United, gaining professional football experience during the club’s promotion-winning campaign. He will now continue his development with Real Native FC.

The five moves form part of Kaizer Chiefs’ latest arrangements to provide players with opportunities for regular football elsewhere. Zwane, Molefe, Timba, Mkhawana and Kgosana will all continue their careers in the Motsepe Foundation Championship for the season.

Zwane and Molefe will be together at Hope FC, while Timba returns to familiar surroundings at Gomora United. Mkhawana and Kgosana will begin their loan spells with Real Native FC, formerly Casric Stars.

For Timba, the move represents a return to a club that was pleased with what he delivered during the few months he spent there last season. Mkhawana, meanwhile, arrives after being part of Kruger United’s successful promotion campaign, while Molefe will compete for the number-one shirt after Leicesterford City relied largely on Phoku during the previous season.
