Nice add Cameroon-France winger Nathan Ngoumou after Monchengladbach exit
Cameroon-France winger Nathan Ngoumou has joined Nice from Monchengladbach on a free transfer, giving the Ligue 1 club a new right-sided attacking option.
Ngoumou, 26, completed the move on 17 August 2026 after leaving the Bundesliga side. The transfer takes him back to France, where Nice will become his latest club in the country’s top flight.
The right winger has made 71 Bundesliga appearances during his career, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. He also recorded 44 Ligue 2 appearances, with 10 goals and four assists, before establishing himself at a higher level in Germany.
Ngoumou’s senior experience in France includes three Ligue 1 appearances, as well as seven Coupe de France matches. He began his competitive career in French football and also featured in the Coupe Gambardella and the Championnat National 3 – Occitanie.
At 1.85m, Ngoumou offers Nice a physically imposing presence on the flank. He is naturally right-footed and has primarily played as a right winger, a role that has brought him the majority of his senior appearances.
Born in Toulouse on 14 March 2000, Ngoumou holds Cameroonian and French nationality. His move to Nice marks a return to the country of his birth after his spell in the Bundesliga with Monchengladbach.
His record in Germany includes an average of one goal every 363 minutes in the Bundesliga. He also scored once in seven DFB-Pokal appearances and supplied two assists in that competition.
Ngoumou’s career statistics in France include a goal every 281 minutes in Ligue 2, while he made three appearances in the Ligue 1 play-offs. His earlier record also includes eight goals in 35 National 3 appearances.
Nice have now secured the services of a wide attacker with experience in both French and German football. Ngoumou has completed his free transfer from Monchengladbach and joined the Ligue 1 club on 17 August 2026.
