Everton monitor Como winger Assane Diao

Everton have made enquiries about Como winger Assane Diao as the Senegal international continues to attract interest from clubs in the Premier League and across Europe.

According to Matteo Moretto, the English club has contacted Como to gather information about the 20-year-old’s situation and assess the possibility of a potential move.

Everton are not the only club monitoring Diao. The winger has also attracted attention from several European sides, with Atalanta among those to have shown interest in recent weeks.

Diao joined Como in January after leaving Real Betis and has gradually become an important part of the Italian club’s attacking set-up.

Despite suffering several injuries that have disrupted his progress, the Senegalese player has continued to make an impression since arriving in Italy.

His performances have now placed him on the radar of clubs looking to strengthen their attacking options, with Everton the latest side to be linked with the winger.

At 20, Diao remains at an early stage of his career and his future could still take him to another club. The interest from Everton, however, has not yet developed into a formal transfer proposal.

There have also been no reports of advanced negotiations between the two clubs at this stage. Everton’s enquiry instead represents an initial step as they assess the player’s availability and circumstances at Como.

Diao’s growing reputation has made his situation one to monitor as the transfer window progresses. His ability to operate in attacking positions has helped establish him as an important player for Como, despite the interruptions caused by injury.

For now, Como have yet to receive a concrete offer for the Senegal international, while interested clubs continue to assess whether a move can be pursued.

Everton’s interest therefore remains at an exploratory stage, with no agreement or advanced talks currently in place.

The coming weeks will determine whether the Premier League club decides to turn its initial enquiry into a formal approach for Diao, who has emerged as a player attracting increasing attention since his move from Real Betis.
