Pyramids receive international clearance for Algeria striker Ahmed Nader Benbouali

Pyramids have received the international transfer certificate for Algerian striker Ahmed Nader Benbouali, clearing the way for the club to announce his arrival from Hungarian side Gyor Torna Egylet.

The Egyptian club have completed an agreement to sign the 26-year-old forward, who is expected to sign a three-year contract with the option of extending it for a further season.

The international certificate was sent by the Hungarian Football Federation to its Egyptian counterpart in preparation for Benbouali’s registration with Pyramids. The player’s registration card with the Egyptian Football Association has also been issued.

Benbouali’s move is expected to strengthen Pyramids’ attacking options after the departure of Fiston Mayele, who left the club at the end of last season.

The Algerian has been with Gyor Torna Egylet since the start of last season, having joined the Hungarian club from Belgian side Charleroi. He made 41 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals and providing six assists.

However, Benbouali has not featured in any match since the beginning of the current season.

Pyramids are yet to formally announce the transfer, but the arrival of the required documentation means the deal is now close to completion. The club have also revealed the player’s registration documents as part of the process.

Benbouali’s previous experience in Belgium and Hungary will add another option to a Pyramids squad that has undergone further recruitment in the current transfer period. The club have so far signed Ahmed Abdel Kader, Eyad El Askalany and Khaled Awad.

Pyramids will now wait to complete the final announcement of Benbouali’s transfer after securing the international clearance and domestic registration documents. His arrival is intended to help fill the gap created by Mayele’s exit and provide additional firepower in attack.

The Algerian forward’s record in Hungary includes 19 goals in 41 appearances, along with six assists, although his lack of competitive action so far this season means he has not yet played for Gyor Torna Egylet during the current campaign.

The agreement between Pyramids and the player had previously been reached on the basis of a contract running for three seasons, with a possible additional year. The receipt of the international transfer certificate represents the latest step before the Egyptian club confirms the signing.
