Dusan Vlahovic joins Besiktas after Juventus contract comes to an end
Dusan Vlahovic has joined Besiktas on a free transfer after leaving Juventus, continuing a high-profile move of forwards from European football to Turkey this summer.
The Serbia striker has signed a three-year contract with the Turkish club, which will keep him at Besiktas until the end of the 2028-29 season. The agreement begins with the 2026-27 campaign.
Besiktas confirmed the deal after completing negotiations with the 26-year-old on Thursday. The club had announced on Wednesday that talks with Vlahovic were under way.
Vlahovic is due to be officially presented to Besiktas supporters on Friday at 19:00 local time. The event will take place at Tupras Stadium, with fans expected to attend in the lower stands.
In a statement, Besiktas said: “Regarding the transfer of professional football player Dusan Vlahovic, a three-year contract has been signed with the player, valid from the 2026-2027 season until the end of the 2028-2029 season. The player will receive a guaranteed amount of 7 million 500 thousand euros for each football season.”
The move brings an end to Vlahovic’s four-season spell with Juventus. He joined the Italian club in January 2022 from Fiorentina for a fee of 80m euros, having established himself as one of Serie A’s leading strikers.
Vlahovic’s arrival in Turkey follows the decision by Egypt forward Mohamed Salah to move to the Turkish league this summer. Salah also completed a free transfer, joining Trabzonspor.
The two players have therefore taken similar career paths after leaving prominent European clubs without transfer fees being paid for their moves. Vlahovic will now begin the next stage of his career with Besiktas, while the terms of his contract commit the club to retaining him for three seasons.
His transfer was completed shortly after Besiktas publicly confirmed that it had opened discussions with him, allowing the club to secure the striker before his presentation in front of supporters. The agreement gives Besiktas a recognised forward with experience from the Italian league, where Vlahovic first made his name with Fiorentina before moving to Juventus.
The Serbian spent four seasons wearing the Juventus shirt before his contract expired. He will now be part of the Besiktas squad from the 2026-27 season, with the club’s announcement confirming both the length of the deal and his guaranteed annual salary.
